Google Play announced a $1 million Indie Games Fund for Africa aimed at helping independent studios expand their businesses and reach wider audiences.
The company said ten selected studios would receive between $50,000 and $200,000, along with mentorship and technical support.
Applications were opened to eligible developers in sub-Saharan Africa that had already launched a game on mobile, PC or console, with a July 31 deadline. The terms and selection remain controlled by Google.
